Base Fees
Fees are calculated on a monthly basis and parents must pay whether their child attends or not. This includes days missed due to illness, inclement weather, vacation and statutory holidays. Hucklebug Preschool Inc. requires a 2 day per week minimum attendance for all programs, with the exception of our Summer Camp program. Please see our summer camp summary. Hucklebug Preschool Inc. does not offer a price reduction for siblings.

Non-Base Fees may include costs for trips, occasional fundraising opportunities that arise, late pick up fees, late payment service charges.
Please note: If the agency is closed for reasons beyond our control (e.g. inclement weather, power outages, etc.) fees will still be charged. Notice of closures will be posted on our Hucklebug Facebook page and sent out by email.
Canada-Wide Early Learning & Child Care System (CWELCC)
The Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care System (CWELCC) will provide funding to participating licensed child care programs to help reduce fees for families of children under the age of six, to support inclusive child care and give access to more affordable and high-quality child care options.

As a parent/guardian of a child under the age of six, you do not need to apply to get a fee reduction. A 25% fee reduction took place (to a minimum of $12 per day) for eligible children retro to April 1, 2022. A second fee reduction took place starting January 1, 2023 to reduce fees further by approximately 50% (on average) for eligible children. The goal is to lower licensed child care fees for eligible children on average to $10 per day by the end of 2025/2026.
Fee Payment
An invoice will be emailed, or personally given to you in requested circumstances; at the first of each month for that month’s fees. Prompt payment is requested within five days. A service charge of 2% will be added after 30 days of an unpaid account. Continuous nonpayment of fees or NSF cheques, leave us no other choice but to request withdrawal from the program. Any concerns should be directed toward the Supervisor or Director.
Unpaid accounts past 61 days will go to Collections. Fees can be paid by e-transfer, cash or cheque. Please note: We ask that any cash or cheque payments be made at one of our full day programs.
Fee Subsidy
Families may be eligible to receive full or partial subsidy to help with their child care fees through Children’s Services of Peterborough. Please contact Children’s Services (705-748-8830) or visit the website to complete the application.

Subsidies will be renewed as per individual contracts with Children’s Services. Caregivers are responsible to pay full fee invoices if subsidy contracts are not renewed.
